About the role
Job Role:
The NCR POS Functional Consultant will provide functional expertise and support for NCR POS systems across retail environments. The role involves managing store configurations, monitoring interfaces, troubleshooting data issues, coordinating with vendors, and supporting POS upgrades and patches. The consultant will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for NCR POS functionalities and integrations.
Skill set:
Core POS Expertise
- Strong functional knowledge of NCR POS systems (Radiant POS – RPOS, NCR StorePoint, Aloha).
- Hands-on experience in POS configuration, workflow design, and transaction lifecycle management.
- In-depth understanding of retail POS operations, payment workflows, and fuel management systems.
Integration & Vendor Collaboration
- Proven ability to integrate POS systems with third-party vendors (payment gateways, loyalty programs, inventory systems).
- Expertise in troubleshooting and resolving integration issues across multiple platforms.
- Ability to coordinate with vendors and manage incident resolution effectively.
Functional & Technical Acumen
- Familiarity with PLU management, pricing strategies, and promotion setups.
- Strong knowledge of SQL for data validation and reporting.
- Experience in job scheduling tools and batch processing.
- Deep understanding of retail operations, EOD processes, and batch management.
- Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into POS functional solutions.
Additional Skills
- Knowledge of omni-channel retail environments and enterprise POS architecture.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Experience with POS patching and upgrades, including testing and rollout coordination.
