(Location: Remote - Anywhere in Canada )
The total target compensation (TTC) range, including salary and target bonus, is $117,600 - $166,880. This TTC range is applicable to permanent roles only; fixed-term contract and casual roles are not eligible for annual bonus and would receive only the base salary component. The actual base salary offered within this range will be determined by the successful candidate’s skills and experience, as well as internal equity
Empire Life is looking to hire a Manager IAM to join our IT Security team! We are actively seeking candidates to fill a current, open position.
The IAM Manager will lead the day-to-day operations and tactical execution of our enterprise and customer IAM programs. This role serves as the critical link between long-term IAM strategy and technical delivery. You will manage a team of IAM professionals, ensuring that identity services are secure, scalable, and aligned with our organizational architecture. This role will report to the Director Digital Trust & Identity.

What you’ll be working on
-People Leadership: Help recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of IAM engineers and analysts. Conduct performance reviews and foster professional development. -**Tactical Execution:**Translate IAM strategy and architecture into actionable sprints, projects, and daily tasks. -**Operational Excellence:**Oversee the lifecycle of identities (Joiner, Mover, Leaver), privileged access management (PAM), and customer-facing authentication flows. -**Strategic Alignment:**Actively participate in strategy and architecture discussions to ensure proposed solutions are operationally viable and sustainable. -**Stakeholder Management:**Serve as the primary point of contact for internal business units regarding access requests, troubleshooting, and identity-related escalations. -**Compliance & Audit:**Ensure all IAM processes meet regulatory requirements and internal security standards, facilitating regular access certifications and audits. -**Contract Management:**Lead the end-to-end administrative lifecycle for IAM-related software and service contracts, including tracking renewal dates and coordinating with the team to validate ongoing requirements. -**Budget Planning:**Partner with the Director to identify and justify annual funding needs, preparing formal budget requests for IAM tools and headcount to be integrated into the global IT budget. -**Vendor Liaison:**Act as the primary administrative point of contact for IAM vendors, ensuring that service levels are met and that renewals are processed without service interruption
##What we’re looking for you to have
-**Technical Foundation:**7+ years in Information Technology or Cybersecurity, with at least 4–5 years specifically focused on IAM (Enterprise and/or Customer IAM). -**Leadership Experience:**Prior experience in a formal management role or as a seasoned technical lead with a strong desire to transition into people management. -**Architectural Literacy:**Ability to understand and contribute to discussions regarding OIDC, SAML, OAuth, SCIM, and Zero Trust frameworks. -**Technical Stack Knowledge:**Hands-on experience with industry-standard IAM tools (e.g., SailPoint, Okta/Auth0, ForgeRock, Entra ID, CyberArk). -**Problem-Solving:**Proven ability to manage complex technical projects and navigate the "grey areas" where strategy meets implementation. -Certifications: Relevant certifications are an advantage (CISSP, CRISC, CISM, etc.)
