Position Details
We are looking for a Mechanical Designer - Institutional to join our Victoria office. In this role, you will be part of a collaborative team, working on mechanical design projects from schematic design through to construction. This position offers the opportunity to apply your creative and innovative thinking to a diverse portfolio of recreational projects. We seek a candidate who embodies creative thinking and a proactive attitude, complemented by strong communication, organizational, and report writing skills. Ideally, you should have a solid foundation in design principles and a keen interest in developing your technical knowledge while contributing to innovative projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Mechanical design including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and building control systems.
- System design calculations and equipment selections.
- Preparation of contract drawings and documentation.
- Project coordination with team designers and external design professionals
- Comply with AME Quality management standards and processes.
Key Skills
- Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, IESve, HAP and Microsoft Office.
- Experience working on recreational and aquatic projects is an asset.
- Up-to-date knowledge of technical developments, building codes and standards.
- Clear and concise communication, both orally and written.
- Ability to work collaboratively and efficiently in a team.
Qualifications and Experience
- P.Eng. or Professional Technologist designation is preferred but not mandatory.
- Minimum 3 years of technical mechanical (HVAC, plumbing and fire protection) experience.
- Sustainable design certification (LEED®, Certified Passive House Designer, etc.) or experience would be an asset.
