Housekeeping Office Clerk

The Opportunity

The Housekeeping Office Clerk is accountable and responsible for the efficient organization of all administrative functions of the Housekeeping department, as well as providing excellent service to guests and all Banff Centre departments.

Roles and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Executive Housekeeper, below are some key accountabilities:

  • Provide sound administrative assistance to the Housekeeping Supervisors to ensure the smooth operation of the department
  • General office organization and assist in the cleaning of guest rooms and public areas when and where required
  • Monitor and prepare all paper work relating to payroll based on scheduling information for approval by the Executive Housekeeper
  • Record all work requests, both internal and external, and communicate those requests effectively
  • Maintain and complete work order forms and follow up with Physical Facilities on completed maintenance requirements
  • Sew and mend uniforms, clean and fold laundry and perform minor repairs to fabric when required
  • Provide exceptional customer service to guests of Housekeeping and Custodial
  • Respond to a wide array of requests, such as room deliveries, and lost and found inquiries
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualification and Educational Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of Office Administration experience required
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, etc.)
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
  • A high standard of customer service and strong organizational skills are required

Special Requirements

  • Due to the nature of the job, this position requires the candidate to be available to work a flexible, irregular schedule and weekends.

Employment Terms & Benefits

  • In accordance with CUPE 4318, this is a unionized, hourly support staff position, subject to a 500 hour probationary period.
  • This position pays $21.65 per hour working up to 40 hours per week on a rotating schedule.
