As part of our experienced Group Underwriting team, you will review, analyze and interpret financial information to prepare new business quotations; review and assess historical claims experience to prepare financial reports for renewals; and handle inquiries, amendments and rate negotiations in a timely manner. You will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to both internal and external contacts throughout this process.
- Hybrid working model based out of our Winnipeg, MB office, with three days in-office per week.
Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to effectively convey information and build relationships with fluency in English and French
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a group benefits underwriting role is preferred
- Candidates must have post-secondary education or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge in the pricing of both manual and experience rated benefits is preferred
- Thorough understanding of multiple financial arrangements including non-refund, ASO and retention accounting is preferred
- Broad knowledge of group insurance products is preferred
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective problem solving and negotiating skills
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently
- Capable of handling multiple tasks effectively while meeting deadlines
- Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills
- Completion of GBA/CEBS courses would be considered an asset
