##Position Description
Perinatal Project Lead, Toronto Region Maternal and Child Health Network
The Toronto Region Maternal and Child Health Network (TMCHN), hosted at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), is one of six regional maternal and child health networks in Ontario, established to improve health outcomes and health equity for perinatal, newborn and paediatric populations. The initial area of focus for TMCHN is to strengthen inter-hospital partnerships and improve capacity, access, and patient flow across the region.
The Perinatal Interprofessional Project Lead is responsible for coordinating network and system-wide initiatives that advance TMCHN's mandate - with a focus on the implementation of best practices, quality improvement initiatives, and education. While a broad understanding of the pediatric and perinatal healthcare landscape is desired, this role is intended to further strengthen our work in perinatal care.

Here's what you'll do:
- Develop partnerships with perinatal programs across the Toronto region.
- Work with TMCHN Obstetrical Medical Lead and Perinatal Lead to advance initiatives across maternal-newborn care.
- Be a systems thinker who collaborates with Interprofessional colleagues in education development, knowledge translation strategies and implementation science.
- Lead ongoing current state and gap assessment of perinatal/pediatric hospital educational offerings and implement recommendations to address prioritized gaps.
- Collaborate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of projects and initiatives that advance interprofessional practice across maternal-newborn care.
- Contribute in the development of specialized perinatal education sessions based on practice updates and identified needs from community partners.
- Enable the implementation of clinical best practices and quality improvement across the network.
- Ensure education meets established practice standards and facilitate access to clinical resources, best practice guidelines, standards of practice or other resources as required to inform learning.
- Organize and co-lead TMCHN Regional Education Rounds and Nursing Community of Practice.
- Promote the use of data generated by BORN to monitor trends and inform opportunities for quality improvement.
- Support additional functions related to TMCHN's workplan and core activities as needed.
Here's What You'll Need:
- Undergraduate degree in a regulated health profession.
- Member in good standing of a regulated health profession college.
- Three (3) or more years of experience working within a perinatal and/or pediatric acute care setting, perinatal preferred.
- Graduate degree in Nursing, Health Sciences, Education, or equivalent is an asset.
- Project management certification is an asset.
- Leadership experience, knowledge of evidence informed practice and knowledge translation practices.
- Expertise and competencies in perinatal and/or pediatric patient care and education.
- Demonstrated experience with theoretical and practical work in adult education including program planning, change leadership and project management.
- Knowledge of best practices and innovative modes of delivery in inter-professional education.
- Demonstrated commitment and actions in advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion objectives.
- Experience in project management, quality improvement, and evaluation.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a variety and diversity of people, populations, organizations and groups.
- Proven ability to network and build partnerships.
- Ability to self-initiate, work independently and work effectively within a team environment.
- Demonstrated strong leadership capabilities, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, within an interprofessional team.
- Willingness and flexibility to meet priorities and emerging demands of the network.
- In depth knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Demonstrated commitment and actions in advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion objectives.
