Job Description

Summary: The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing daily service and maintenance tasks to ensure the optimal condition of designated properties. The role focuses on maintaining building systems, conducting routine inspections, addressing maintenance requests, and performing necessary repairs. The Maintenance Technician will play a key role in enhancing resident satisfaction by ensuring that all work is completed efficiently and to a high standard, contributing to the overall success of property management operations.

Salary Range: $55,000 - $58,000 per year

What You'll Get To Do

Perform service tasks, maintenance, and operations, including preventative and corrective maintenance, inspections, and regular tours of equipment, systems, and property areas to ensure optimal performance. Manage the work order system, promptly addressing repair requests and performing services as required, ensuring all tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and code requirements within the scope of services, and report any issues to management. Conduct regular inspections of all operating equipment and systems, as well as daily checks of all common areas, to ensure proper functionality and ongoing maintenance. Liaise with and meet service contractors as needed, coordinating schedules and overseeing quality of work performed. Assist with monthly building inspections, ensuring all safety and maintenance standards are met. Monitor inventory of maintenance supplies, ensuring stock levels are maintained and reordering as necessary. Demonstrate proficiency and knowledge in the operation and troubleshooting of fire safety systems, HVAC systems, and security systems. Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall operations of the property.

Who You Are

1-3 years in maintenance, facilities management, or a related field High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in a relevant field (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.) is preferred. Certification in specialized systems (HVAC, fire safety, etc.) an asset Valid driver’s licence may be required for travel between properties or for conducting repairs. Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, and building operations. Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues. Familiarity with fire safety systems and other regulatory requirements. Experience in performing both preventative and corrective maintenance on building systems and equipment. Knowledge of standard operating procedures for maintaining property systems. Excellent troubleshooting skills to quickly diagnose and resolve issues with building equipment and systems. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities to meet deadlines. Clear and effective communication with contractors, vendors, and team members. Keen attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of inspections, maintenance tasks, and documentation Capability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, climbing, and working in various environments. Knowledge of and adherence to safety regulations, including those related to building codes, fire safety, and personal protective equipment.
