About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our team at McKesson. In this role, you will support and evolve our hybrid cloud and enterprise network environment, ensuring the delivery of scalable, secure, and reliable infrastructure solutions. Your expertise will be pivotal in designing, implementing, and maintaining infrastructure across Azure and on-premises platforms, driving automation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives.

This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in cloud, networking, and infrastructure engineering who enjoys tackling complex technical challenges, enhancing platform reliability, and collaborating across various teams including architecture, operations, and security. Your contributions will directly impact the stability and efficiency of our enterprise infrastructure, supporting McKesson’s mission to improve healthcare delivery worldwide.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience with at least 7+ years of relevant industry expertise. Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise infrastructure in hybrid cloud environments, with a focus on Azure, is essential. Exposure to other cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is preferred.

Strong foundational knowledge in network engineering, including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, BGP, VPNs, and hybrid connectivity, is required. Proficiency with automation and orchestration tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or Python is also necessary. Candidates should have a working understanding of virtualization and container platforms like Kubernetes, as well as experience with monitoring, capacity planning, and cost optimization.

Excellent communication, documentation, collaboration, and problem-solving skills are critical. Familiarity with security, compliance, change management, and governance practices in large enterprises will be advantageous. Prior experience in healthcare or regulated industries is a plus, along with exposure to DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or infrastructure-as-code practices.

Responsibilities

Support the design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of enterprise infrastructure systems to enhance scalability, performance, and reliability. Contribute to cloud and on-premises infrastructure projects, ensuring adherence to enterprise architecture standards, security policies, and operational best practices. Assist in infrastructure project delivery by executing engineering tasks, documenting work thoroughly, and coordinating with senior engineers and cross-functional teams. Participate in network capacity planning activities, including trend monitoring, performance analysis, and recommending optimization strategies. Troubleshoot infrastructure incidents and service disruptions, escalating complex or critical issues to senior technical teams as needed. Develop and maintain automation scripts, configuration templates, and infrastructure-as-code practices to facilitate repeatable and reliable deployments. Engage in governance activities related to SLAs, OLAs, security controls, compliance, and operational readiness assessments. Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and process improvements under the guidance of senior engineers. Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, runbooks, diagrams, and operational procedures to support team knowledge sharing and operational efficiency. Perform other duties as assigned to meet organizational goals and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Our pay range for this position is $99,100 to $132,100, aligned with our pay philosophy and compliant with applicable regulations.
