The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated Medical Science Liaison to join our team. As the Medical Science Liaison, you’ll represent a peer-to-peer scientific bridge between Sequence Bio’s Chief Scientific Officer / Principal Investigator and our research collaborators.

We're looking for someone who can translate complex genomic research into trusted, actionable partnerships within the Newfoundland and Labrador healthcare community. In this role, you’ll build strong relationships with regional physicians and specialists, accelerate research study enrollment, and share the impact of our findings with a wide range of stakeholders. The Role

What You'll Do Responsibilities Research & Healthcare Provider Collaboration Serve as the primary scientific point of contact for healthcare and research collaborators, positioning Sequence Bio as a true innovation and research partner within the provincial healthcare system. Build and maintain trusted, collaborative partnerships with regional specialists, general practitioners, clinical researchers and other healthcare providers within target disease areas (e.g., respirology, rheumatology, oncology). Collaboratively develop streamlined referral and outreach processes with research partners to optimize participant identification and accelerate enrollment across active research studies.

Scientific Communication & Education

Deliver compelling, objective presentations on the scientific value of Newfoundland and Labrador’s founder population, genetic architecture, and the mechanics of family-based validation studies. Provide scientific education to clinicians on target disease cohorts (e.g., MASH, Ankylosing Spondylitis, Multiple Sclerosis) and collaborate on inclusion/exclusion criteria considerations to support study enrollment. Represent Sequence Bio at regional medical conferences, symposia, and working groups to engage new partners and communicate progress, abstract data, and research milestone achievements. Synthesize clinical insights from community healthcare providers and collaborate with internal science and research teams to align study goals with provincial healthcare infrastructure.

Who You Are

Qualifications & Skills Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Biological or Life Sciences, Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Healthcare and Clinical Professionals, (advanced degree like an MSc, PhD, or PharmD is an asset). A minimum of 3–5 years of experience in healthcare stakeholder engagement, research partnerships, medical affairs, or professional biotech/pharmaceutical relations. Scientific Acumen: Strong functional understanding of genetics, human biology, and population health concepts; demonstrated ability to confidently discuss complex scientific data and research methodologies with medical specialists (e.g., Rheumatologists, Oncologists, Neurologists). Regional Network: Established professional relationships within the Newfoundland and Labrador healthcare ecosystem (e.g., NL Health Services, private specialty practices, general practitioners, or academic research channels). Communication & Presentation Mastery: Advanced public speaking and presentation skills, with a proven ability to translate complex genomic research objectives into clear, engaging narratives. Comfortable presenting to diverse audiences, ranging from formal clinical panels and academic symposia to community-facing patient advocacy groups. Advocacy & Community Engagement: Proven track record of building trusted, collaborative partnerships with non-profit health foundations and patient advocacy groups. Growth Mindset & Curiosity: A proactive learner with a strong intellectual curiosity and eagerness to continually expand their knowledge of genomics, data-driven drug discovery, and emerging precision medicine trends as the company grows. Mobility & Residency: Current residency in Newfoundland and Labrador is required, along with the ability to travel across the province's health zones as needed.
