Schedule: 70 hours bi-weekly; Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, including some evenings and weekends

This position works in the Marketing Services organizational unit. This is specialised communications and marketing work in developing and coordinating print, digital, online and social media communications and marketing campaigns for the City of Burnaby. An incumbent participates in developing communications and marketing strategies and plans; provides guidance and advice to internal clients and collaborates with colleagues and clients to implement campaigns; gathers, compiles, consolidates, writes and edits a variety of information; coordinates event logistics and evaluates same; establishes and maintains effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts. Considerable independent judgement and action are exercised in the creative aspects of the work. Unusual problems and policy matters are discussed with a supervisor who reviews performance for effectiveness and accomplishment of desired objectives. Performs related work as required.

Qualifications include a degree in communications, marketing or a related discipline plus considerable related experience or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience. Considerable knowledge of communications and marketing principles, objectives practices, methods and techniques related to the work performed; of the City’s requirements, programs and activities and regulations, rules and policies governing the work. Ability to write and edit a variety of materials and to communicate effectively orally and in writing through various media to a variety of audiences; to work on several projects simultaneously and respond to competing priorities. Ability to use equipment and software used in the work. A Driver’s Licence for the Province of British Columbia is required.

Schedule: 70 hours bi-weekly; Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, including some evenings and weekends.

This is a Temporary Full Time position until February 12, 2027.
