Position Overview:
Join the Finning Canada family, part of the world’s largest Caterpillar dealer. We are currently looking for a Leadhand Parts Journeyperson who will be responsible for overseeing the handling of customer parts sales orders and assisting with related processes of the Parts department.

Job Description:
Major Job Functions:
- Promote a Strong Safety Culture: Actively advocate for the Parts Department’s engagement in Finning’s safety initiatives and foster a culture of safety-first practices.
- Facilitate Weekly Shift Transitions: Prepare and distribute a comprehensive weekly crossover report to the Regional Parts Manager and the opposing Team Lead to ensure seamless communication and operational continuity.
- Oversee Daily Operations: Ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality service and productivity within the Parts Department, maintaining high standards in both accuracy and efficiency.
- Support Training and Development: Champion Finning’s continuous training model by mentoring new hires and supporting the ongoing development of the Parts Apprentices and existing team members.
- Enhance Team Communication: Serve as the communication liaison within the team, promoting transparency, collaboration, and timely information sharing.
- Assist with Workforce Planning: Collaborate with the Regional Parts Manager to support scheduling and resource allocation based on operational needs.
- Coordinate Customer Commitments: Collaborate and communicate Estimated Ship Dates (ESDs) to customers, ensuring expectations are met and exceeded.
- Reporting and Supply Chain efficiency: Review and update backorder reports and unsourced orders, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution to support efficient order fulfillment.
- Prioritize Workload Effectively: Lead the team in assigning and managing task priorities to balance quality and quantity in daily operations.
- Champion Digital Tools: Promote and support the use of the Service Parts Tracker and Power BI Reports to enhance operational efficiency.
- Perform Additional Duties as Required: Take on other responsibilities and projects as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, lead by example, and influence team performance through collaboration and clear communication.
- Skilled at driving results without formal authority, embracing change, and prioritizing team success over individual tasks.
- Journeyman Parts Certification or Red Seal Journeyman Parts Certification required
- Shop parts experience and familiarity with all parts related CAT applications.
- A high performance, positive attitude and the ability to build and maintain respectful working relationships
- Clearly demonstrate enthusiasm about their work and must be able to function effectively and purposefully in a dynamic environment
- Ability to deal with difficult situations and potentially unhappy internal customers
- Capable of working with minimal supervision
- Computer literacy with applicable software knowledge along with shop parts experience
- Experience with SIS and Lawson M3 is and asset but not required.
- Ability to upload XML files and proficiency with MS Office (TEAMS – Excel - Word – Power Point).

- This position is located at our Fort McKay facility on a 7x7 continuous shift (camp provided)
