Faculty Appointment Types Part-time Job Summary
The College of New Caledonia is looking for a JET Program Instructor. The incumbent will be required to prepare and deliver course curriculum, which will include integrated learning opportunities, developing skills relating to obtaining and maintaining employment, as well as supervise job placements, and liaise with community support services.
Skills & Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in Adult Special Education is required (a Master’s degree preferred)

Teaching experience with people (adults preferred) who have a broad range of developmental disabilities

A combination of education and experience will be considered

Provincial Instructor’s Diploma an asset

Excellent interpersonal skills, a strong belief in the abilities of people, and respect for individual learning styles

Demonstrated abilities to liaise with community groups
-
Knowledge of supported employment placements
You will promote a positive work atmosphere and communicate in a professional manner that demonstrates mutual respect with students and colleagues
You will be part of a team actively engaged in contributing to and accomplishing the vision, mission, and goals of the College and in supporting the aspirations and needs of our learners and communities.
Hiring criteria shall include professional qualifications, professional experience, teaching experience, college contributions, community awareness, and personal attributes so far as they are applicable to the job classification in question.
