Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring an Import Specialist on a permanent basis on our Home and Building Solutions (HABS) team. This position is a remote opportunity and can be based anywhere in Western Canada.

As a key player in shaping our strategic growth of import operations, you’ll build the foundation for a scalable and compliant import operation that drives long-term growth. This role offers the opportunity to lead supplier communications, manage international logistics, manage and prioritize sourcing projects, and ensure trade compliance—all while supporting sourcing initiatives and enhancing supply chain agility. What you’ll do:
- Collaborate with Category Management to gain insight into sourcing initiatives, engage key supplier stakeholders to ensure seamless communication, and deliver competitive quoting opportunities that support strategic growth for Category Teams.
- Build and maintain strong, bilingual (Mandarin/English) relationships with overseas suppliers to ensure clear communication, reliable sourcing, and proactive issue resolution; includes occasional travel to sourcing hubs.
- Monitor production schedules, ensure timely shipments, and maintain compliance with international trade regulations; coordinate with logistics partners and manage customs documentation.
- Conduct cost analysis, support vendor negotiations, and develop scalable import SOPs and dashboards to enhance shipment tracking and vendor performance.
- Support Store Brand development & drive sustainability through improved packaging.

The Collaborators: You will act as a liaison across departments (Logistics, Finance, DC, Category Management, and Procurement) by eliminating language barriers, facilitating communication with global vendors, and ensuring timely and compliant movement of goods into the FCL network.

Who you are:
You are looking for a career in Supply Chain and:
- Have 3-6 years of relevant experience.
- Have a bachelor’s degree in commerce (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
- Have interest in Category Management and driving profitable sales growth.
- Have proficiency in Mandarin language skills (considered an asset). Have high proficiency in excel and are familiar with ERP systems.
