The E&I Field Specialist will be responsible for performing field inspections and participating in construction walk‑downs. The Specialist will focus on ensuring that all relevant aspects of the construction meet the electrical and instrumentation design intent and will have the opportunity to work on the Hatch and Bantrel Joint Venture (HBJV) to execute engineering and construction on the Jansen Potash Mine Project in Saskatchewan. After successfully completing the Definition Phase Study for the project, the HBJV is currently carrying out the Detailed Engineering Phase for the Processing, Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI) and Mining Areas of the 4.5 Mtpa Stage 1 Potash Mine. With a published TIC of US $5.3-5.7 Billion this will represent one of the largest projects and private investments in Canada. The HBJV will use a hybrid of best-in-class new developing technologies and systems as well as the proven HBJV suite of tools to execute this exciting project. Term - Casual Hire or Contractor - anticipated end date January 2027. Camp: 14 days on, 7 days off. 10 hour days. Day shift. The E&I Field Specialist will address electrical, and instrumentation technical queries and non‑conformance reports related to the design. They will primarily work within the Integrated Construction Centre (ICC) platforms to raise technical queries, non‑conformance reports, and other notices as required. The E&I Field Specialist will serve as the key interface between the Owner (BHP), the Engineer of Record (HBJV), and the construction team for all electrical and instrumentation engineering‑related activities. This role includes interpretation of designs, technical requirements, and engineering functional standards, as well as seeking validation and clarification as necessary to support execution in the field.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Perform E&I inspections and sign off on inspection and test records to ensure quality and compliance. Lead field verification of installed quantities, progress tracking, and reporting accuracy. Utilize digital tools (ICC platforms) to streamline queries, reporting, and workflow efficiency. Conduct walkdowns, manage punch lists, and support turnover to ensure successful handovers. Partner with contractors and field supervision to plan work, resolve issues, and maintain schedule alignment. Coordinate with engineering on constructability, design issues, and testing requirements for E&I systems.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent combination of education and hands-on trade experience (e.g., Red Seal). Professional Certification: P.Eng. (Saskatchewan) is an asset, not required. Experience: 5–10 years of progressive experience in electrical engineering or construction.
