Are you a UX leader who values pushing boundaries and shaping the future of interactive sports experiences? EA SPORTS NHL is looking for a creative UX leader to lead world-class design across our franchise.Join us in shaping one of the most beloved sports gaming franchises in the industry by creating intuitive, immersive, player-first experiences alongside a high-performance design team.
You will report to the Art Director and work Hybrid remote/in-office at our Vancouver studio.
What You'll Do:
- Lead and evolve the end-to-end UX strategy for the EA SPORTS NHL franchise with us.
- Champion a player-first mindset, using design thinking to create intuitive, emotive experiences together.
- You employ quick sketches to interactive prototypes—delivering solutions grounded in technical realities.
- Collaborate with game designers, artists, engineers, and producers to embed UX in every part of our development process.
- Promote UX excellence through hands-on design, feature ownership, and iteration from concept to live product.
- Share our vision through storytelling and UX methods that inspire and align teams with diverse teams.
- Turn research into action, ensuring testing, analytics, and player feedback shape UX improvements.
Qualifications:
- Experience with UX and an understanding of usability, human factors, and interaction design.
- 5+ years of hands-on UX experience within console gaming or digital products with complex user flows and microtransactions.
- A thoughtful, strategic mind—you don't just design, you advocate for the player.
- Mastery of UX tools like Figma, Axure, Adobe Creative Suite, and wireframing/prototyping techniques.
- You can articulate UX concepts and inspire others with your vision.
- A portfolio showcasing UX leadership and design solutions that promote engagement, retention, and delight.
- Experience with gaming and sports—bonus points if you understand what makes NHL fans tick.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).
PAY RANGES
* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$119,600 - $167,300 CAD
In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
