About the Role
Liptako Mining Services is assembling a technical team for a national pollution monitoring and early warning system project in West Africa — an 18-month mission covering air, water, and soil monitoring across multiple pilot zones, including active mining regions.
We’re looking for a senior consultant with deep environmental monitoring and GIS expertise to strengthen our technical proposal and, once awarded, support delivery across the diagnostic, design, procurement, and deployment phases.
What You’ll Do
Lead needs analysis and technical diagnostics across pilot zones
Design the technical architecture: sensors, fixed and mobile stations, communications, data platform, GIS, and dashboards Draft technical specifications for monitoring equipment and software Support procurement, vendor evaluation, and acceptance testing Shape the early warning system — alert rules, thresholds, and dissemination channels (SMS, email, dashboard) What You Bring
10+ years designing environmental monitoring systems, geospatial data management, and GIS, ideally in mining, hydrocarbons, urban planning, agriculture, or energy Expertise across air/water quality modeling, environmental instrumentation, M2M/IoT telecommunications, remote sensing, and geospatial databases Engineering degree or equivalent in a relevant field Fluent French (required); English is an asset West Africa / Sahel project experience strongly preferred Why This Project
