This position is in Lower Mainland, BC and does not have camp accommodations, travel allowance, or living out allowance. This is a 5 and 2 schedule with the possibility of working afternoons, evenings, and weekends. As a Carpenter Journeyperson, You Will
- Build forms for concrete
- Cut, shape, and join
- Look for and fix deficiencies
- Building of hoarding and other temporary structures
- Checks accuracy of work, and makes adjustments as required
- Studies blueprints for work planning
- Constructs and forms chutes for pouring concrete
- Erects scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level
- Acts as a work leader and mentors to apprentice carpenters
- Informs immediate supervisor of abnormalities or defects and/or takes appropriate measures
- General site upkeep
Minimum Requirements
- Preference will be given to a candidate that has a Carpenter Journeyperson Ticket from a recognized provincial training authority
- Non-ticketed carpenters must provide proof of hours relevant to the industrial Carpentry trade
- Experience with concrete formwork required
- Certifications: CSTS & WHMIS
- Fall Protection is an asset
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Describe and point out safety compliance and regulatory issues
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
