Position Overview: We are currently looking for a dedicated Dual Ticketed Heavy Duty Mechanic/Electrician who will be responsible for a variety of equipment repair functions in a service-oriented environment. This position follows a 7x7 shift based out of our D37 Calgary Power Systems facility.
We are willing to consider Journeyperson HET/Apprentice Electricians.

Job Description:
- Repair machines and perform a variety of service oriented functions
- Troubleshooting and repairing Caterpillar and other mechanical equipment.
- Perform a wide variety of equipment repair diagnostics
- Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes)
- Interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team
- Work with the Service Supervisor on various tasks as required
Qualifications:
- Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic/ Electrician
- OR Willing to work towards Electrician Red Seal Certification.
- Successfully meet Finning’s educational and testing prerequisites. This includes:
- Completion of grade 12 (not including a general equivalent diploma)
- Meet the requirements of article 5.02 of the Alberta Collective Agreement
- Highly motivated and mechanically inclined
- Strong assets will include:
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Previous Caterpillar experience and basic computer skill
Note:
- Shift work may be required
- Any future shift changes will be made in accordance with the collective agreement
- A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator
**Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current collective agreement**
Union Membership: You are required to become a member of the Union associated with this position. This will be effective immediately and will result in union dues being deducted from your pay. The terms and conditions of your employment will be governed by the collective agreement.
