About the role
1.0 FTE Grade 4/5 Teacher Carlin Elementary Middle School This is a temporary assignment effective immediately to May 8, 2026 or to return of teacher to full contractual FTE. Qualifications
- Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Education (Elementary);
- Valid BC teaching certificate and current membership in the Teacher Regulation Branch.
Teachers applying for this position should possess the following attributes:
- training in elementary education;
- successful teaching at the above grade level;
- excellent classroom management skills;
- experience teaching in a classroom of diverse learners;
- knowledge of current instructional practices with the renewed curriculum;
- knowledge of First People's Principles of Learning;
- ability to differentiate instruction based on student needs;
- knowledge of and experience with Guided Reading Strategies;
- willingness to work closely with Learning Resource Teacher;
- experience in successfully implementing Core Competencies;
- strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills;
- current knowledge and ability with technology;
- willingness to contribute to school wide programs;
- strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills;
- commitment and ability to work with students with exceptional needs;
- successful experience using PM Benchmarks;
- experience in comprehensive literacy and numeracy instruction;
- enthusiasm to incorporate outdoor education;
- willingness to work closely with parents and staff;
- commitment to school goals.
