About the role

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Vice President of Sales & Marketing to lead our sales team and drive revenue growth, both in North America and Global. Reporting directly to the President, the Vice President of Sales & Marketing will be responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies, managing key accounts, and fostering a high-performance sales culture. This role requires strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and a proven track record of success in sales management. Additionally, the incumbent once established in the role will become a member of the Britespan Executive Leadership Team.

Due to the nature of the role and to support growth & development, please note that this position is required to be onsite in WINGHAM, ON and the candidate must be within a reasonable commute, or willing to relocate for this exciting opportunity. Other compensation factors in addition to base salary will be discussed during the hiring process.

Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule and able to travel. While this may not happen regularly, the role may require periods of up to 50% travel, which may include travel across entire Canada & USA, and globally as other markets continue to grow (e.g. Europe/United Kingdom)

Position Qualifications:

Education & Knowledge

  • A University degree in business administration, marketing, sales or equivalent Certification in a related field
  • Knowledge in the following areas: Sales Management, Market Analysis and Strategic Planning, CRM, Financial Acumen, Distribution & Dealer Networks.

Skills

  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to inspire, motivate, and coach a sales team to achieve their goals, are critical for driving performance and fostering a positive work culture.
  • Analytical, able to collect and analyze data to interpret for use with continuous improvement initiatives and to reach sales targets.
  • Able to investigate, qualify and source new dealers in vacant regions.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
  • Decisive, considering input from stakeholders and data driven decisions, while keeping commitments to necessary timelines.
  • Strong organizational, negotiation & problem-solving skills, able to juggle multiple competing priorities.
  • Fiscally responsible and profit-minded when executing all business initiatives.
  • Independent, self-starter with excellent time management.
  • Creative across the board, able to think outside the box and demonstrated ability to establish any course corrections needed, proactively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proven depth and experience with CRM software; HubSpot preferred.

Experience

  • 20+ years sales experience (minimum)
  • 10+ years’ experience in Sales Leadership and/or Senior Management Capacity
  • Sales experience in both US and Canada.
  • New Dealer Acquisition and Network expansion experience
  • A strong background in successful sales / sales management.
  • Experience in strategic growth planning and execution.
  • Experience investigating potential markets, analyzing and establishing courses of market penetration and/or expansion.
  • Demonstrated ability to grow a team and implement succession planning, coaching and mentoring for both individual and team success.
  • Comprehensive knowledge, experience and oversight of marketing, including SEO, lead generation and brand building.
  • Customer complaint management and resolution.
  • Experience in developing commission structures that foster success and revenue growth.
  • 7+ years’ building industry & construction related.
  • Manufacturing/distribution Experience – asset
  • Global sales experience - asset
  • Fabric building industry experience - asset
  • Dealer distribution networks, development and acquisition – asset

Communication

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact in a team environment and positively contribute to the company missions

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and drive market penetration in the USA, Canada and abroad.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of sales professionals, including a Director of Sales in the USA and a Director of Sales in Canada, to maximize their potential and performance.
  • Establish sales objectives, quotas, and performance metrics (KPI’s) to track progress and ensure accountability.
  • Create and manage customer contracts, payment terms, receivables and project management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, human resources and customer service, to align sales initiatives with overall business objectives.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key accounts and strategic partners to drive sales growth and expand market share.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for enhancement and differentiation.
  • Develop and manage the sales budget, including forecasting, expense control, and resource allocation, to optimize profitability.
  • Provide regular reporting and updates to the executive team on sales performance, market trends, and opportunities/challenges.
  • Stay abreast of industry developments and best practices to continuously improve sales processes, techniques, and effectiveness.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote our brand and expand our network.
  • Follow up the sales support custom quotes to dealers, ensuring maximization of opportunities.
  • Responsible for ensuring consistent and balanced commission structures that foster success and revenue growth in conjunction with Finance and Human Resources Departments.
  • Assist in facilitation of annual International Dealer conferences to encourage information and best practice sharing and constructive collaboration amongst dealer network and Britespan.
  • Use and utilization CRM data base as primary housing for data & activities.
  • Engage and leverage relationships with other Britespan affiliated sales organizations for best practice and strategic development.
  • Reporting to Operations on forecasting, capacity planning and inventory management
  • Work with the marketing department to understand and communicate marketing messages to the field.
  • Foster a team environment and positive culture.
  • Responsible in conjunction with human resources for recruitment and performance management of all personnel reporting within sales & marketing departments.
  • Other duties as assigned.
