Role Description: This is a Part-time, Hybrid Occupational Therapist - Independent Contractor Role based in Milton, ON, with a mix of in-person services and work-from-home tasks such as virtual assessments, documentation and virtual sessions. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing clients’ occupational performance, developing and implementing evidence-informed intervention plans, and supporting goals related to regulation, sensory processing, motor skills, and daily living skills. The Occupational Therapist will provide services in-home, in-clinic, and community settings, collaborate with caregivers, educators, and community partners, and offer coaching and education to support carryover of strategies. Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate clinical documentation, participating in program development and staff training, contributing to inclusive recreational initiatives, and engaging in ongoing professional development and quality improvement activities.
Qualifications Strong foundational skills in Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation, with experience delivering client-centred, functional interventions. Knowledge of Pediatrics and child/youth development, including sensory processing, motor development, and family-centred practice. Effective Communication skills for working with clients, families, caregivers, educators, and community partners across diverse settings. Understanding of medicine and healthcare principles relevant to OT practice, including safety, ethics, and interprofessional collaboration. Graduate degree in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent) and current registration or eligibility for registration with the appropriate regulatory college in Ontario. Experience providing services in community-based, school, or home environments; familiarity with inclusive and trauma-informed practices is an asset. Strong organizational skills, clinical documentation accuracy, and ability to manage a varied caseload in a hybrid work model. Commitment to ongoing learning, cultural humility, and evidence-informed practice to support diverse clients and families.
