About the role
POSITION SUMMARY
Strike is looking for Light Equipment Operator with relevant experience in construction and facility maintenance. Typical day to day work will be to load and unload material, move aggregate material, rig and transport material throughout site, work outside equipment as necessary supporting labour/trades crews.
Employees are expected to support and participate in a “culture of safety” and adhere to and be ambassadors of Strike’s Code of Conduct and Values, and to treat others with dignity, respect and fairness.
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Operate a telehandler/skid steer to move and lift pipe spools, load trailers, and transport other miscellaneous material throughout the site
- Assist other tradespeople with the completion of their duties when required
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and clean, lubricate and refill equipment
- Identify and report hazards or unsafe work practices
- Participate in pre-job toolbox meetings to identify potential hazards and measures to eliminate or minimize them
- Perform other activities at construction sites, as directed
- Assist with the fit up and bult up of piping
EXPERIENCE
- Must have previous experience operating telehandlers and skid steers
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug & alcohol testing
- Able to lift 50 pounds
- Comfortable working in various environments of construction
