About the role
A career within Delivering Deal Value (DDV) will provide you with the opportunity to help clients achieve maximum value on their deal transactions by solving transformational and other complex challenges. We focus on all operational aspects of a transaction – pre- and post-close – including pre-deal and functional due diligence, enterprise-wide integrations, and complex divestitures, carve-outs and separations. Our work spans across a wide range of functional and cross-functional areas, within diverse sectors and industries. As a DDV Director, you will lead a dynamic team of problem solvers dedicated to helping clients navigate complex business challenges — from strategy through execution. You will play a central role in collaborating with our clients, driving value across the full deal lifecycle, partnering with other competencies with PwC’s Deals line of business in order to serve clients in delivering measurable results in high-stakes transactions.
The Opportunity:
Our team assists Corporate, Private Equity and Pension Fund clients in their acquisition, integration, and divestiture activity. This team supports clients in all operational aspects of a deal, pre- and post-completion, including:

Buy- and sell-side functional due diligence (i.e. Operations, HR, Tech, Cyber, etc.)

Post-acquisition integration planning and execution
-
Carve-out and separation planning and execution, including standalone cost analysis
-
Synergy identification, planning, tracking and execution
Your responsibilities as a Director will include, but are not limited to:
-
Oversee multiple projects at various stages of a transaction and across end-to-end value creation programs
-
Set the overall strategy and provide frameworks for delivery teams to execute on project mandates
-
Leverage experience and expertise across complex deal structures to define scope, outline approach and prioritize effort across value creation mandates
-
Manage senior-level project sponsors and key client stakeholders
-
Develop senior-level stakeholder relationships to enable account management insight and actions
-
Bring existing deep industry experience to our client and continuing to evolve sector expertise
-
Provide subject-matter guidance and direction to delivery teams and facilitate access to sector/ functional expertise and best practices within the firm
-
Act as leader for issue escalation, risk management, decision making and quality control in support of delivery teams
-
Lead account planning, business development in the market and pursuit activities and demonstrate accountability for and ownership of revenue generating activities
-
Build a book of business by actively selling new mandates, identifying add-on work on existing engagements, and recurring revenues and repeat business opportunities
-
Contribute to firm thought-leadership based on expertise and experience; develop innovative approaches and methodologies

Provide leadership guidance to delivery team leads on budget management, resourcing and billing activities
-
Support DDV leadership with firm-building activities, i.e. talent development, performance management, etc.

Coach and develop team members – aligned with PwC’s values – to help them grow and thrive in their roles and to evolve as professionals within the firm
As part of the transaction process, the DDV team develops a rapid understanding of the target or client business in order to quickly assimilate the key operational issues, synergies, risks, and value-creation opportunities surrounding each transaction.
WhatYou’llBring:
We are looking for a candidate who brings the following experience and capabilities:

A track record of developing a business vision and leading complex projects while functioning as a trusted advisor at the highest levels of client organizations
-
Experience in a leading management consulting firm demonstrating extensive knowledge of mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures — including pre-deal functional due diligence, integration planning, separation planning, standalone costing, synergy and cost savings
-
Proven experience leading large, complex programs (e.g., global, multi-functional engagements) with the ability to influence multiple senior-level stakeholders
-
Extensive, hands-on experience with one or more of the following functional areas: HR, IT, Finance, Operations and Sales and Marketing
-
Extensive experience and deep expertise in one or more industry sectors including Financial Services, Telecom, Consumer Products, Energy, Industrials and Infrastructure
-
Experience leading and developing strategic client relationships while consistently delivering the highest quality work across multiple concurrent client projects
-
Strong capability in communicating both quantitative and qualitative analyses of complex data combined with exceptional critical thinking skills to support recommendation and decision-making
-
Experience taking a lead role in business development and pursuit activities, both internally with client pursuit teams and externally through client-facing meetings and proposal discussions
-
Proven ability to lead full cycle of project management responsibilities and to lead teams through complex engagements, including leading multiple engagements simultaneously
-
A drive to embrace AI to bring innovation, efficiency and differentiation to our clients along with a desire to continuously upskill for a digital world, with an openness to learning new tools and adapting how you work

A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences, developing and coaching diverse teams, and ensuring that diverse perspectives are heard and integrated

This position ensures continuity and upholds our standards of excellence following the departure of a valued team member.
The salary range for this position is $191,200 - $241,200. The posted salary range represents the expected hiring range for PwC locations in major city centres. Given our national recruiting approach, ranges may vary for positions in other locations. At PwC Canada, base salary is determined by your skills, experience, qualifications and work location. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may have opportunities to participate in variable incentive pay programs which are designed to reward individual and firm-wide achievements. We are committed to offering competitive compensation and adhere to all relevant pay transparency legislation.
