We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our team in Technical Sales.
Summary
This role is a multi-discipline function, encompassing activities related to proposal development and client development. Technical Sales personnel report to the Director of Sales and Contracts.
Hours of Work: 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM (Monday - Thursday), 7:30 AM - 11:30 PM (Friday), 40 Hours Per Week
Responsibilities
Client Development - Technical Sales personnel will be assigned certain client development activities. For these assignments, Technical Sales will:
Contact and build relationships, as directed, at existing or potential client organizations by understanding their needs, communicating these needs to the rest of the team, and by developing trust through product expertise and meeting commitments
Follow up on proposals to ensure client needs have been met and to get competitive feedback
Some travel will be involved to meet with clients
Proposal Development - Technical Sales personnel will be assigned certain proposal development activities. For these assignments, Technical Sales will perform some or all the tasks below, as directed:
Keep Quotation Index updated
Create Quote electronic folders
Review of specifications
Assemble proposal teams, assign tasks, and disperse information to team members for assigned bids
Learn the design process and take on proposal design tasks as appropriate
Interact with clients to resolve questions or conflicts related to RFQ documents
Manage the proposal response schedule
Assemble commercial/technical bid content and exceptions/clarifications from various team members for compliant bid responses
Prepare proposal estimates
Sales Order Documentation -Technical Sales personnel will be assigned activities related to order documentation. For these assignments, Technical Sales will perform some or all the tasks below as directed:
Update Project List
Create Sales Order electronic folders
Engage with Engineering and Project Management as needed to ensure clear understanding of project details
REQUIREMENTS
Level of education : College
Diploma : DEP
Status : Completed
Work experience (years) : 3-5 years
Written English : Advanced
Spoken English : Advanced
REQUESTED SKILLS
Requirements
Mechanical engineering degree or diploma preferred
Two to Five years’ experience in a related field.
Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 suite.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Familiarity with payroll processes and budgeting is an asset.
Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
