Job summary

The Computer Operator supports the store"s overall operations. The role includes data entry, computer maintenance and troubleshooting on Point of Sale and inventory systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Enter and maintain data in computer operating systems and run necessary reports.
  • Perform back-ups and upgrade on front-end and back-end systems.
  • Adjust data/inventory/pricing information on all systems.
  • Activate/deactivate and ensure promotional deals are on schedule.
  • Print signs, label and merchandising lists, where applicable.
  • Ensure that all computer equipment and cash registers are in proper working order and arrange for maintenance, repairs and system recovery when required.
  • Handle assigned incoming/outgoing reports and messages for the Dealer and/or Store Management.
  • Communicate relevant information from Canadian Tire Corporation"s portal to respective Store Management and staff.
  • Support floor staff as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.

Requirements / Skills

  • Knowledge of computer operating systems
  • Results-oriented and solid organizational skills
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to troubleshoot and find solutions to problems, adapt and cope with challenging situations and make decisions
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work shifts (days, evenings, week-ends and holidays)
