About the role
POSITION DETAILS:
Responsible for leading daily operations such as ensuring production targets are met, maintaining quality standards, and fostering a safe working environment. You will lead a team of 4 – 8 staff, coordinate production schedules, and collaborate with other departments to achieve production expectations and contribute to overall organizational success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strong leadership to the team, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Motivate, coach, and mentor employees to achieve their full potential.
- Collaborate on production schedules to meet customer demands and deadlines. Monitor workflow and adjust resources as necessary to ensure on-time delivery.
- Maintain high quality standards throughout the fabrication process. Ensure quality control measures are followed and conduct regular inspections to identify and address any issues promptly.
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure all employees adhere to safety regulations and procedures. Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections to minimize workplace hazards and prevent accidents.
- Oversee the daily preventative maintenance of CNC equipment to ensure optimal performance. Coordinate with maintenance staff to address any equipment issues promptly.
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and supplies to support production schedules. Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely replenishment of materials.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings. Align with the objectives of the organization to implement efficiency metrics and lean manufacturing principles to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
- Maintain accurate production records, including work orders, inventory levels, material consumption records and quality control reports. Generate regular reports on production performance, efficiency, and quality metrics.
- Collaborate with supervisors and department managers to coordinate workflow and resolve inter-departmental issues. Communicate effectively with employees to provide feedback, address concerns, and promote a culture of teamwork.
- Identify training needs and provide ongoing skills development opportunities for employees. Ensure that all team members are adequately trained on equipment operation, safety procedures, and quality standards.
Working Conditions
- Industrial shop environment.
- Exposure to noise, machinery, and metal materials
- Physical work including standing, lifting, and manual handling.
- May require shift work or overtime depending on production needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3–5+ years experience operating CNC machinery.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of production scheduling and workflow management.
- Strong understanding of CNC programming and file preparation.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Intermediate Mathematics skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and manufacturing software systems
- Proficient with hands-on problem solving, especially related to custom assembly and machine troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of quality control principles and practices.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards.
- Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic knowledge of Rhino and Kongsberg CNC programming is an asset

This role will require 5 days per week on site at the Toronto office located at 1000 Martin Grove Rd, Toronto, Ontario, M9W 4V8.
COMPENSATION
The compensation range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00 hourly dependant upon experience.
