About the Role We’re looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team on a 6-month contract. In this role, you will manage the full accounts payable cycle, making sure invoices are processed accurately and on time while keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes.
You will work closely with vendors and internal teams and play an important part in maintaining strong financial operations.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare counsellor payment summaries using reporting from the EAP system
- Monitor the AP inbox and respond to inquiries
- Review, verify, and process invoices and expense reports
- Enter and maintain accurate records in the accounting system
- Process payments including electronic transfers and cheques
- Reconcile accounts and investigate discrepancies
- Communicate with vendors regarding billing questions
- Keep financial records organized and up to date
- Support month-end close and reporting
- Assist with audits by providing documentation as needed
- Follow company policies and accounting standards
What You Bring
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 1 to 3 years of accounts payable or general accounting experience
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
- Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or similar
- Proficiency in Excel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Clear communication and problem-solving skills
Nice to Have
- Experience working with ERP systems
- Ability to manage a high volume of invoices
- Familiarity with tax and compliance requirements
- Strong analytical skills
Work Schedule
- Full-time, 40 hours per week
- Monday to Friday
- 6-month contract with potential for extension
Working Environment This role is based in either Mississauga or Markham and may be office-based or hybrid, depending on team needs. Occasional overtime may be required during busy periods such as month-end.
