We currently have an opening for a power Winder at our Walkerton Manufacturing location, come grow with us!

To Support the production departments (Control, Distribution, Reactor, and Potted Assembly) by suppling transformer coils as required by production loads.

Key Activities

• Select winding kit to work on based on schedule or as determined by team lead or supervisor
• Review winding kit to ensure proper & adequate materials have been provided or are available
• Based on winding order MIP, select & load wire or foil and set-up Power winding machine
• Based on winding order MIP, reset counter to the correct number of turns based on MIP
• All coils must be wound according to specs. Deviations must be pre-approved by manufacturing engineering
• Run 1st off samples to verify equipment set-up before running complete job
• Perform ratio tests on all 1st off coils and additionally as specified in Ratio/Polarity SPI
• Ensure finished coils fall within all dimensions & tolerances as specified on spec/drawings

Quality

• Always perform the ratio tests as specified for each 1st of coil or additionally as spec requires
• Always verify parts are correct as per the specs or drawings
• Notify QA of any quality issues using the appropriate process and forms
• Complete as required the MOS engineering feedback form for any and MIP/Spec issues

Education

• High School (Grade 12)
• Education in Manufacturing or Electrical Principals would be an asset.

Specialized Training

• Previous manufacturing experience an asset
• Basic electrical theory an asset
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics an asset
• Knowledge of both the metric and imperial measurement systems required
• Hoist Training

Skills, Abilities & Equipment Operated

• Interpersonal skills training including HPR (High Performance Relationships)
• Computer skills – MS Word, Excel, Outlook
• Familiarity with office equipment - computers, photocopiers, printers
• Experience or knowledge in use of calculators, rulers, tape measures, scales an asset.
• Experience with or using winding machine, hand tools, power tools, brazing & soldering, hoists
