As a Lead Hand, your key objectives are to align extrusion personnel to maximize output while producing quality extruded products. This role is essential in ensuring smooth operations and achieving strategic production outcomes. This position reports to the Extrusion Manager and has the following assigned general duties and responsibilities.
Duties And Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Management
Execute directives from the department Manager to achieve set goals. Lead and motivate team, constructively manage conflicts.
Communication and Collaboration
Ensure excellent communication and accountability within the team. Collaborate with department manager to manage activities and timelines. Utilize communication channels (MS Teams, radio, face-to-face) to provide updates and allocate resources. Maintain open lines of communication between employees and management.
Operational Supervision
Maintain a vigilant and aware presence on the production floor. Attaining a schedule adherence rate exceeding 90% in extrusion. Guaranteeing departmental On-Time Delivery (OTD) of no less than 90%. Evaluate each station of the production process to ensure maximum efficiency and quality. Inspect products being produced regularly to prevent rework and quality issues. Ensure proper utilization of employees, materials, and equipment.
Safety and Compliance
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and manage incidents effectively. Enforce safety policies and procedures (both in-house and regulatory) to decrease the potential for employee injuries on the job. Effectively address and oversee safety incidents reported during each shift. Ensure full compliance with pre-operation checklists in extrusion.
Role Requirements
Previous experience supervising in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency in producing high-quality written communications. Demonstrated ability to lead a team. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively. Ability to excel under pressure and meet demanding deadlines. Dedication to upholding safety and quality standards.
