##Qualifications
MINIMUM FORMAL EDUCATION/TRAINING:
- Graduation from a recognized college or university preferably with a major in management information systems, accounting and finance, business administration, public administration, computer information systems or a related field, or equivalent is required.
EXPERIENCE:
-
A minimum of three years of advanced level experience in supporting Ellucian Banner Student or other complex relational SIS, required.

Experience in the functional configuration, modification, or maintenance of complex relational databases, required.
-
Experience configuring software with Banner integrations (ID system, Academic Calendar, Exam Scheduling, Astra Schedule), preferred.

Experience in interpreting rules, regulations, and business processes at the University of Manitoba, required.

Experience in analyzing and improving business processes required.

Experience supporting change and working with others to implement new workflows and procedures, required.

A successful track record of forming relationships and working with others across departments and within teams, required.

Knowledge of fundamentals of change management, process improvement and communications are required.

##Key responsibilities
- Analysis of existing business functions and processes related to SIS (Aurora Self-Service and Banner Admin Pages), UMAchieve Degree Audit, CourseLeaf Calendar and other ORES software.
- Investigate new software functionality (Banner, Workflow, Experience, Entrust ID, CourseLeaf Catalog, etc.) Implement and configure software based on business needs. Make recommendations to change business processes, enhance baseline processes or customize software to meet business needs. Provide consultation, configuration and testing scenarios.
- Collaborate in the development of enhanced functions to better meet needs of ORES, academic units, and administrative units across the university.
- Act as a liaison between end-users and Information Systems Technology (IST) personnel by providing consultation, business requirements, analysis, design, functional configuration, testing and maintenance of systems to ensure optimal system performance.
- Interact with academic and administrative units to identify, define, and document operational needs and objectives, current operational procedures, problems, input and output requirements, and levels of systems access. Translate user requirements into specific functional or technical solutions. Develop specific modifications/customizations to the system/software and where customization/automation development is required, then implement with the technical team by providing advice on system functionality and data flow.
- Develop process flow documents to identify opportunities for improving business processes through Aurora student systems and other associated information systems. Work with others to implement change.
- Test, troubleshoot, and ensure data integrity of all vendor updates and patches to the systems prior to release to the production system; test all student module patches, fixes, and updates in the testing database to ensure proper functioning of the repaired/upgraded system and proper integration with remaining student information systems; test in-house customizations to ensure functionality is maintained.
- Identify, analyze, and report software defects. Resolve configuration issues in assigned areas.
- Evaluate system data and develop specifications for end-user operational reports. Ensure error reports are assigned and dealt with in a timely manner.
- Develop requirements for enhancements to existing systems, configure the changes, and ensure that the system design fits the needs of the end users.
- Support the set up and configuration of all aspects of the assigned functional areas in a manner that meets the business needs of each academic term and determines related procedures and operational schedules.
- Maintain a broad up-to-date knowledge of the student information system and other student-related ORES systems through individual self-study and research, attendance at seminars, lectures, webinars, training sessions and conferences.
- Maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with IST staff, academic/administrative units, vendor consultants and other ORES staff.
- Develop relationships/contacts with other institutions using the same or similar software.
- Keep up to date with current best practices as they relate to students and the University as a whole.
- Document system configuration, coding structures, system processes, business processes, customizations and test scenarios.
- Track and document changes in functional and business practices and write detailed procedures that can be easily understood by end-users.
- Provide technical assistance, mentoring, and coaching to professional, technical and ORES staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
