Summer Student - Supply Chain - SDC

About us: Sofina Foods is one of Canada's leading manufacturers of primary and further processed protein products for both retail and foodservice customers as well as international markets. We manufacture pork, beef, turkey, chicken and fish products. Our family of brands include: Cuddy, Lilydale, Janes, Mastro, San Daniele, Fletcher's, Riserva and Zamzam. We are also the exclusive distributor of Italy’s finest Rio Mare and Lavazza products in Canada.
Position Summary: Reporting to the Director Distribution, the Summer Student Supply Chain, will provide administrative support streamline shipping receiving processes, inventory control, standard operating procedures, claims management etc.
Key Accountabilities:
- Establish a process to collect and track ongoing costs in our 3rd party service providers split by type of work (receive, ship, thaw, blast freeze, case pick, order process, etc.).
- Run a standardized aging inventory report, allowing frontline to action items that are going to be wasted due to shelf life in advance of expiration or compliance matrix.
SDC SOP and signage standardization.
- Identify/document our SOP’s and post in relevant locations in our DC. Additional safety signage (stops, cautions, doors, LOTO, working at heights, etc.).
- Customer Claim on dock Sofina audits. Follow claims from dock to source and back to vendors (follow up with CHEP and transportation carriers to cross charge our claims back).
- Take on and complete the current reports that managers are completing freeing up managers to get their boots on.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
- Availability to work full-time from May to September 2026
- Currently enrolled in a Business/Engineering or Supply Chain program;
- Good computer skills such as MS Office etc.;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- Team player with curiosity to learn and take initiative;
- Well organized and detail oriented;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

- Hourly rate of pay: $20
