Job description
Since its inception in 1965, KJA has been a pioneer in the consulting industry, developing cutting edge ride quality analysis tools, traffic measurement equipment and software that has been used in design development for hundreds of international clients.
In January 2023, KJA merged with two US based companies, ATIS and Liberty Elevator Inspections. The new organization brings unparalleled experience, capacity, and expertise to customers - across all North America. Their combined resources advance their objective to elevate transparency and accountability within the industry, and to improve safety, compliance, and performance. We are seeking new Team Members to add to our growing combined entity.
Junior Consultants assist clients with elevators, escalators and a litany of other vertical transportation needs. Assisting their team in offering solutions to clients. The position is intended to work closely with management companies and contractors to assist in design and maintenance of devices.
The position will report directly to the head Consulting manager in Ottawa.
Bilingual in both French and English is ideal.
Primary Responsibilities
Completes various types of vertical transportation inspections in accordance with up-to-date code and industry requirements
Maintains up to date knowledge of elevator codes and technology
Attend to meeting with clients, vendors and contractors on a daily, weekly and/or monthly basis
Regularly prepare and compose reports in accordance with various projects
Facilitate in the proper and timely execution of projects commissioned by clients
Qualifications

Engineering degree/diploma or equivalent
-
Interest in mechanical and electrical systems and troubleshooting possible flaws.

Interested in working to and obtaining a Qualified Elevator Inspectors certification.

Must have a full driver’s license
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Working knowledge: Assigned work and design workflow and how it is cascaded through a department and a company as a whole in order to maintain efficiency and profitability
General knowledge: General knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems and their functionality
Thorough knowledge: Technology including programs required to hold the position while maintaining the ability to work independently with the technology required for a Junior Consultants
Comprehensive knowledge: The ability to work with sometimes difficult situations and build relationships built on trust and mutual respect.

- Attentive: In the work performed as well as to request made by clients, other Team Members, Managers, vendors and contractors
- Detail Oriented: Must be able to see the overarching goal of projects while maintaining an attention to the innerworkings of the details that are integral to maintaining the safety and integrity of the project at hand
- Punctual: work well within the parameters of deadlines which requires an adherence to a schedule and exemplary time management and prioritization skills
- Collaborative: the ability to work well with and gain support from fellow Team Members and other Consultants
- Approachability: demonstrate the characteristics that are required to receive and evolve from constructive critique of job performance and all that it encompasses
