Judicial Assistant
Court of Appeal for Saskatchewan
One-Year Term Position
The Court of Appeal is seeking a well-organized, responsible, energetic individual to provide administrative support to the Judiciary. The duties include transcribing, proofreading, editing and issuing judicial decisions; maintaining electronic filing systems; arranging travel; preparing expense reports; and other administrative duties for the Court which may be assigned from time to time.
The position requires the person to have excellent knowledge of:
- Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat;
- English grammar, spelling and punctuation; and
- Legal terminology.
The position also requires the person to have the ability to:
- Accurately type, proofread and edit judicial material;
- Locate and verify quotes and citations;
- Analyze and resolve problems;
- Process complex instructions quickly and accurately;
- Communicate clearly, discreetly and courteously;
- Work both independently and as part of a team;
- Establish and maintain electronic and paper filing systems;
- Accurately reference legislation, Rules of Court, regulations, and case authorities;
- Contribute to a positive work environment;
- Independently organize and prioritize multiple tasks; and
- Maintain the professional corporate culture standard of the Saskatchewan Court of Appeal.
The position requires the person be honest, discreet, approachable, courteous, flexible, hard-working and creative. Appointment will be made by Order-in-Council.
Candidates should indicate what knowledge, skills and abilities they have and where they have acquired and developed them. The successful candidate will be required to provide a criminal record check at his or her own expense.
