Overview
The machinist is responsible for the manual metalworking set up and operation. This position involves working as team to meet customer expectations and involves problem solving and communication skills.
**Location:**This role will work from our Production Shop.
**Work Hours:**6:00am – 2:30pm
Salary Range:$23.00/hr - $27.00/hr
**Bonus:**This position is eligible to receive an incentive award targeted at 5% of the base salary.
Responsibilities
- Manual metalworking setup and operation.
- Read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
- Set-up and operate manual lathe, mill, and drill press machines.
- Select proper tools and fixtures required as well as the ability to perform tool changes.
- Properly and safely load and unload tools and raw materials in manual lathe, mill, and drill press.
- Set proper speeds and feeds.
- Verify dimensions of parts using precision measuring instruments
- Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance.
- Perform daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machine.
- Comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions.
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently as well as contribute to team efforts.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience
- Strong proficiency in blueprint interpretation.
- Comfortable with a variety of hand and power tools.
- Skill in reading and interpreting measuring tape.
- Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds.
