We are looking for a Welder to join our manufacturing facility in Grimsby, Ontario. The Welder is responsible for fabricating and assembling metal components used in modular units, ensuring work tasks are performed following safety procedures and company policies while ensuring a high level of quality and timeliness.
In this position, you also get to assist in the assembly and welding of modular building components.
Job Responsibilities:
- Weld structural steel and metal components using MIG, TIG, and stick welding techniques.
- Perform layout and fitting of metal parts prior to welding.
- Fabricate and assemble frames, supports, and other modular building components.
- Complete grinding, finishing, and touch-up work as needed.
- Inspect welds for accuracy, strength, and compliance with specifications.
- Maintain welding equipment and ensure it is in safe working condition.
Who You Are:
- A team player and a safe worker, who can safely handle materials and operate hand, power & welding tools.
- Proficient experience in MIG welding.
- FCAW certification is required.
- Previous experience with the assembly of modular units is considered an asset.
- Ability to lift 55lbs unassisted and 35lbs overhead.
- Capability to stand, crouch and kneel for long periods of time.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.
