Nursery Assistant Manager ? duties as assigned but not limited to.

Plant & Nursery Operations

• Assist with planting, pruning, watering, fertilizing, and pest control
• Monitor tree health and identify diseases or nutrient deficiencies
• Oversee propagation activities such as seeding, grafting, or transplanting
• Ensure proper irrigation systems are functioning
• Help maintain greenhouse and outdoor growing areas

Staff Supervision

• Supervise nursery workers and seasonal staff
• Assign daily tasks and monitor productivity
• Train employees on safety procedures and plant care techniques
• Assist with scheduling and timesheets

Inventory & Sales

• Track inventory of trees, shrubs, soil, fertilizers, and supplies
• Label and organize plant stock
• Assist customers with plant selection and care advice
• Coordinate deliveries and orders
• Help manage pricing and retail displays

Equipment & Maintenance

• Operate and maintain nursery equipment such as tractors, skid steers, sprayers, and loaders
• Ensure tools and machinery are used safely
• Monitor cleanliness and organization of the nursery grounds

Administrative Duties

• Keep records of plant growth, treatments, and inventory
• Assist the Nursery Manager with budgeting and purchasing
• Help ensure compliance with environmental and workplace safety regulations

Skills Often Required

• Knowledge of horticulture or arboriculture
• Leadership and communication skills
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather
• Physical stamina and lifting ability
• Experience with irrigation systems and nursery equipment
• Pest and disease identification skills

Pay: $26.00-$28.50 per hour
