Senior Network Analyst
About the role
The Opportunity
WCLC is currently hiring for a SR Network Analyst with a high-level of technical competency, independence and demonstrated experience for our Infrastructure Services department in Winnipeg. The successful candidate will join a team that is responsible for the analysis, design, implementation, maintenance and support of our Gaming and Non-Gaming IT infrastructure. The position participates in technical research and infrastructure projects to further innovations for the IT infrastructure. The position reports to the Supervisor of IT Network Services and participates in an On-Call process that responds to requests from clients and operational alerts according to defined policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Help the Network Team Lead implement operational plans, goals, and objectives to improve network service delivery.
- Support the Network Team Lead with resource and financial planning for the Network team, while overseeing hardware licensing and support contracts.
- Assist the Network Team Lead with assigning and coordinating work, while acting as a mentor to other team members.
- Help design, implement, maintain, and optimize WCLC’s network infrastructure. Do the same for network aspects of WCLC’s data center co-location facilities in Winnipeg and Toronto.
- Provision, configure, and manage Software-Defined Data Centre networking platforms, including the deployment and lifecycle management of underlay and overlay network fabrics, and perform planned or emergency updates to controller platforms, network operating systems, firmware, and security components.
- Oversee and provide technical support and coordination for WCLC’s SASE‑enabled corporate and retailer network environments, including secure connectivity to external stakeholders, while proactively managing incidents, service requests, and stakeholder communications through investigation, resolution, and remediation.
- Oversee the processes for patching or updating systems and ensure systems have adequate license and support.
- Initiate reviews of requirements, specifications, or requests for solutions. Develop network architectural designs and technical proposals with corresponding cost assessments and budgetary analysis.
- Participate in RFP and RFQ processes by evaluating proposed solutions, assessing technical fit, delivery effort, and financial impacts, and providing informed recommendations in consultation with the Network Team Lead.
- Oversee the design and delivery of network and infrastructure solutions, ensuring successful integration across multiple domains, and collaborate with other business units to confirm alignment with enterprise standards and compatibility with existing systems.
- Some overtime and On-Call support is required.
Qualifications

Degree in Electrical, Computer, or Electronics Engineering, or IT diploma (or equivalent education and experience; international degrees considered).

6+ years of hands on technical experience managing complex networking environments.

Strong practical networking experience with enterprise infrastructure.

Experience with Cisco Nexus (Data Centre), ASA, Firepower, ISR routers, and Catalyst switches.

Experience with Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers and Access Points.
-
Experience with VMware networking.

Knowledge of Cisco Nexus Dashboard (asset).
-
Knowledge of Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) (asset).

Knowledge of SD WAN and SD Access (asset).
-
Experience with F5 BIG IP (beneficial).
-
CCNP certification (beneficial).

Experience working with a network provider or telecom environment (asset).

Strong technical documentation and writing skills.

Clear and effective verbal communication skills.

Collaborative team player able to work with internal stakeholders and vendors.
