We are looking for10 Traffic Techniciansto join our team at Ramudden Services in Ottawa!
The Traffic Technician is an integral part of the Traffic Control Team. They are involved in the setup, monitoring, and take down of road closures to protect road workers and the travelling public. They will provide flagging services to ensure the appropriate flow of traffic on public and private roadways and construction sites.
The Traffic Technician will perform additional duties including loading/unloading the work truck, driving Company vehicles, and other tasks to support the needs of the business.

You have:
-
Full G class license with a clean driver’s abstract (no tickets, charges, demerits; this will need to be provided upon hire)
-
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
-
Strong communication skills
-
Computer literate and comfortable participating in interviews, orientation, and other training online as a group and independently
-
Able to learn/understand appropriate traffic regulations, policies, and procedures
-
Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
-
Able to stand for long periods
-
Able to hold and turn a stop/slow paddle
-
Able to concentrate for long periods in a busy environment
-
Comfortable working in live traffic
-
Commitment to health and safety
-
Own smartphone to send/receive texts/communicate with other staff
-
Flexible for shifts – start/end times, days, nights, weekends
-
Available for overtime as required
-
Knowledge of traffic control, Book 7, and/or flagging operations is an asset
-
Willingness to join LiUNA local within 90 days of start of employment
As a Traffic Technician, you will:
-
Under the supervision of a Ramudden Services Team Lead, read and understand traffic control plans, and follow verbal work instructions as provided
-
Securely load and unload traffic control equipment and signage delivered to job sites
-
Paperwork including vehicle inspections reports
-
Drive company vehicle to/from worksites and shop
-
Perform the set-up and take-down of roadway lane closures
-
Regulate the flow of traffic on job site as per company procedures
-
Maintain visual and/or audio contact with co-workers during “flagging” operations
-
Complete all jobsite and other paperwork as required
Working Conditions:
-
Work outdoors and in a variety of weather conditions
-
Periods of standing or sitting during the roadway closure
-
Hours of work and work assignments may vary for operational reasons
-
Traffic management services may be delivered seven days a week and 24 hours a day
