A continuing (0.3 FTE) Foods teacher is required by School District #49 (Central Coast). The assignment will be at Sir Alexander Mackenzie School effective September 1, 2026. Interested teachers who are certified or who are eligible to become certified by the BC Ministry of Education, Teacher Regulation Branch are invited to apply. Assignment may change depending on enrollment.
Required****Experience :
- Recent success as a foods teacher;
- Demonstrated ability to unpack the new curriculum (core and curricular competencies);
- Knowledge of Aboriginal World View and understanding;
- Familiarity working with students on IEP's;
- A proven ability with assessment as and for learning strategies;
- A commitment to integrate local Indigenous Culture into the curriculum;
- A proven ability to develop a positive learning environment in the classroom and evidence of strong organization and classroom management skills;
- A commitment to and successful experience working collaboratively in a team setting;
- The ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and the greater community;
- Be willing to submit to a local criminal record check.
The annual salary range for this position is $72,983 - $126,238.
