Position Summary:

We're on the lookout for an enthusiastic Program Supervisor to spearhead the daily operations across multiple locations, while also taking the lead in training and supervising our fantastic team. As a key player reporting to the Program Coordinator, the Program Supervisor collaborates closely with the Program Coordinator and our dynamic People and Culture team to ensure that every location aligns seamlessly with Pulford's Mission, Vision, and Values.

What will you be doing:

Individual Support

  • Be involved in the developing, implementing, and monitoring of individual support plans along with maintaining positive relationships with other agencies or programs.
  • Play an active role in providing individual(s) opportunities to grow relationships, as well as teaching and assisting the individual(s) in developing interpersonal skills.
  • Provide opportunities for individual(s) to participate in their community.
  • Be an advocate for justice, inclusion, and full community participation on behalf of vulnerable persons; help the individual(s) understand their rights.
  • Ensure individual’s emotional, physical, spiritual and medical needs are met.
  • Be caring, compassionate, patient, respectful and understanding.

Leadership & Administration

  • Supervising, building, and maintaining a positive work team; providing feedback and identifying areas of strength, growth and development.
  • Supports with recruitment responsibilities such as conducting interviews and providing orientation and training for all new staff.
  • Ensures completion and secure storage of records and documentation following Agency policies and procedures and the Department of Families requirements.
  • Organizes and facilitates regular staff meetings, creating schedules, completing payroll, while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Ensures that all required financial documents are completed and remitted on time
  • Monday to Friday (24/5) on call responsibilities, and rotation on call for weekends

Maintenance and Safety:

  • Ensures the home and appliances/equipment inside the home are maintained well, following fire safety regulations, ensuring the working alone policy is adhered to, and reporting and responding to unsafe conditions.
  • Participate in basic maintenance and upkeep of each home and must understand safe work practices and apply them to a home environment.

What you are bringing:

Must Haves:

  • Previous supervisory experience leading a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required in working with peers, managers, internal and external stakeholders
  • Good organizational, time management and administrative skills
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, problem solving, and ability to adapt to changes/challenges
  • Knowledge of or previous experience supporting individual(s) with intellectual disabilities
  • Clear Criminal Record Check with the Vulnerable Sector, Adult Abuse Registry Check, and Child Abuse Registry Check within the last three months.
  • Flexibility to be on call 24/5 Monday-Friday, and rotating weekends
  • Valid Class 5F Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Valid First Aid/CPR certificate

  • Post-secondary education in a related field
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training (NVCI)

Pulford Community Living Services Inc., a not-for-profit community based organization, was established in November 1986 in response to the closing of a guest home that threatened to leave several people homeless. On December 1, 1986, three people moved from the guest home into their own home on Fleet Avenue, assisted by Pulford.

Since 1986, Pulford has continuously provided housing and supports to persons with a developmental disability. The supports provided by P.C.L.S. Inc. and its employees are intended to encourage and facilitate, to the greatest possible extent, the individual's ability to live and grow in ways that the individual sees fit.
