POSITION: UNIT CLERK I – Emergency and Inpatient Mental Health
Primary Site: Stratford
Regular Part-Time
(Shifts: 12-hour shifts, 7 day/week coverage, may be subject to change)
POSITION SUMMARY: As the primary contact person, the Unit Clerk I coordinates unit activities to promote relationships with patients, visitors and healthcare professionals. In addition, the Unit Clerk contributes to the efficient function of the Unit primarily through effective clerical and communication activities.
REPORTS TO: Manager, Inpatient Mental Health and Stratford Emergency Department
DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible
SALARY: $27.47 to $29.15 per hour
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two year Medical Office Administration Diploma
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum one-year experience in a health care setting preferred
- Two years’ experience in an Acute Emergency Room preferred
ABILITIES:
- Computer literate with a working knowledge of Meditech Information System and Microsoft Office Applications
- Medical terminology
- Excellent keyboarding skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Team oriented and customer focused
- Well organized.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
