The salary range for this role is $86,320.00 to $107,900.00. Base salaries are determined during our interview process, by assessing a candidate’s experience, skills against internal peers and against the scope and responsibilities of the position.

Position Summary Responsible for leading the Blending, Drain & Fill and Bulk operations to ensure optimal performance across safety, quality, service, cost, and productivity metrics. This role drives operational excellence through effective resource utilization, continuous improvement initiatives, and strong cross-functional collaboration. The Manager oversees departmental projects, ensures production targets are achieved, and partners closely with Distillery, Bottling, Bulk & Maintenance to resolve operational challenges, enhance reliability and efficiently meet customer demand. The role is committed to achieving excellence in quality, health and safety, environmental stewardship, product integrity, and overall operational performance.

Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities Health, Safety & Compliance:

  • Ensure full compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act (Sections 25, 26, 27, and 28) in alignment with company Management, Supervision, and Worker Safety Responsibilities policies.
  • Champion a strong safety culture by promoting proactive hazard identification, risk mitigation, and continuous safety improvement.
  • Serve as a member of the Food Safety Team, responsible for the development, implementation, and ongoing management of food safety systems within the department’s ISO 22000 scope.
  • Ensure compliance across products, processes, equipment, and identified food safety hazards.

Operational Leadership

  • Develop and execute operational and capital expenditure strategies through five direct reports (Blending Supervisors and Drain & Fill Supervisor).
  • Drive continuous efficiency and productivity improvements across Blending, Drain & Fill, and Bulk operations.
  • Partner with Maintenance to troubleshoot equipment issues, improve reliability, and minimize downtime.
  • Backfill supervisory roles as required to maintain operational continuity.
  • Participate & Support in New Product Development initiatives to proactively address capacity constraints and remove barriers to innovation.

Quality & Product Integrity

  • Actively participate as a member of the organoleptic panel.
  • Lead non-conformance (NC) investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and continuous improvement of product integrity systems.

Financial & Performance Management

  • Accountable for achieving departmental financial targets:

  • Capital Budget: $2.0M CAD

  • Operating Budget: $4.0M CAD

  • Overhead Budget: $1.0M CAD

  • Develop, track, and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) through regularly scheduled Business Review processes.

  • Analyze financial variances (including excise, labor, inventory and purchasing activities) and determine root causes with corrective action plans.

  • Lead the development and project management of capital and operational improvement initiatives.

Education & Experience

  • Post-secondary education in Engineering, Science, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a process manufacturing environment, including demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with practical troubleshooting experience in an industrial setting.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience with enterprise and compliance systems such as IsoVision, JD Edwards (E1) or comparable platforms.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret production data, financial reports, and performance metrics.

Regulatory & Compliance Knowledge

  • Working knowledge of applicable regulatory and compliance standards, including:

  • Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA)

  • Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) requirements

  • Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) regulations

  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations

  • Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) requirements

  • ISO standards (including ISO 22000 or equivalent food safety frameworks)
