We currently have an exciting opportunity as a Sales Representative. This role is based in our Edmonton Alberta office and reports to the Western Canada Sales Manager.

Summary
To achieve or surpass targeted sales objectives for Canplas within pricing guidelines, terms of sale, and distribution channels aimed at developing new and existing markets. As well as provide technical advice on application and installations.
Principle Accountabilities
- Sustain and boost sales for Canplas (Product) Systems distributors, comprehending market/competitive activity to engage with distributorship Managers and purchasing representatives. Promote Canplas products on sales calls, gaining dedication of sale.
- Promotes and assures a positive relationship with all Canplas customers through regular communication of product related information. Upon delivery of products, assess customer happiness levels to guarantee continuous improvement of customer relations.
- Acts as engineering/technical resource, services existing accounts and generates future business prospects through frequent visits throughout assigned territory. Prepare presentations aimed at gathering pertinent customer information while relaying which of Canplas quality products meet their needs, aimed at growing Canplas sales as well as the distributor’s through education.
- Builds long-term relationships with contractors, engineers and end users, promoting product quality and application in a competitive market, to secure their dedication to our product.
- Investigate and follow-up on new customer inquiries, cold calls and untouched markets to continuously develop sales opportunities. Participate in trade shows and/or other promotional programs.
- Writes quotations, follows-up on outstanding orders and quotations, maintaining constant contact with customers.
- Collaborates with all essential internal staff, especially customer service to relay customer information and pertinent data.
- Report and detail all sales activities in order to facilitate sales forecast preparation and costing data.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- University degree or equivalent experience, Engineering an asset, combined with at least two to five years sales experience within a related industry is required.
- Experience with Plumbing & Mechanical distribution and contractors.
- Ability to work under pressure, effectively manage one’s own schedule and the need to possess detailed product knowledge/specifications are essential to this position.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong time management skills, organized, must be able to balance multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Strong sense of personal accountability; takes initiative and ownership of tasks and projects; works well in a team and independently.
- Ability to learn new systems quickly
- Strong administrative skills and attention to detail
- Excellent command of the English language
TRAVEL REQUIREMENT
- Employee can be required to travel 50% of the time.
- Employee may need to regularly visit other Canplas locations.
- Hold a valid driver's license.
