Reporting to the Head of PMO and Business Analysis, the Business Analyst plays a key role in delivering high-quality technology and operational solutions across the organization. This position bridges business needs and IT delivery, ensuring successful implementation of initiatives that support operational efficiency and strategic objectives.
The ideal candidate has strong experience in business analysis, data analysis, quality assurance, and project coordination within the Asset Management industry.
Your responsibilities:
Requirements Gathering and Analysis:
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to elicit, document, and prioritize detailed business requirements.
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications, user stories, data mappings, and process flows.
- Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
- Document current and target operating models using process modeling tools (e.g., Visio).
- Lead user forums and stakeholder workshops to refine requirements.
Quality Assurance and Testing:
- Develop comprehensive test cases and execute system and integration testing.
- Partner with development teams to resolve defects and ensure solution quality.
- Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) cycles and coordinate stakeholder sign-off.
Project Planning & Coordination:
- Work closely with project managers to develop project plans, timelines, and resource allocation requirements.
- Track and report project progress on all assigned project features and user stories, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Identify and proactively mitigate project risks and dependencies.
Stakeholder Communication and Change Management:
- Facilitate communication between business stakeholders and the IT team, ensuring a clear understanding of requirements and project objectives.
- Provide clear status updates to sponsors and program leadership.
- Support Change Management activities
- Develop user guides and facilitate end-user training sessions as required.
Must have requirements to be successful in this role:
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, Economics, or Information Technology. CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) and or CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) certification is considered a strong asset.
- 5–7 years of Business Analysis experience, primarily within Financial Services or Asset Management.
- Strong understanding of Investment Operations and asset classes.
- Experience working on large-scale technology implementations and managing concurrent operational initiatives.
- Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and sprint planning; ability to prioritize tasks and balance multiple deliverables concurrently.
- Ability to work independently to size and prioritize project development sprints, execute sprints successfully in alignment with project timelines and budget.
- Proven ability to collaborate and interact across the organization confidently and effectively, and to build strong working relationships in a team-oriented, deadline driven environment.
- Identify and lead problem resolution to ensure business stakeholder needs are met.
- Willingness to take on diverse responsibilities and work in a challenging fast-paced environment.
- Capacity to make decisions and push forward with incomplete information.
- Strong problem-solving skills, and a keen attention to detail.
- Work towards continuous improvement, and challenging existing processes
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Working knowledge of SQL (ability to independently query databases for ad-hoc data analysis)
- Experience with data modeling, data mapping, and large dataset analysis.
- Nice to have experience working with DevOps
Additional Information:
- Fiera Capital adheres to a hybrid working environment with 4 days in-office per week.
- The salary range for this position is $110,000 to $120,000. This salary range is for Ontario.
