Your work environment at EXP
EXP is searching for an Electrical Designer or Technologist to join our Mechanical/Electrical Buildings team in our Hamilton, ON office. The successful applicant will be joining a diverse engineering group in Central Canada poised for growth and challenging opportunities well into the future.
What a day at EXP has in store for you
- Under the supervision of senior engineers or project manager, produce design packages including schematic diagrams, floor plans, equipment room layouts and schedules
- Under the supervision of senior electrical engineer or project manager, prepare concept reports, meeting minutes, specification and contract administration documents
- Conduct site survey for existing conditions when required
- Carry the electrical calculation as required for the systems
- Obtain information on equipment from suppliers and select equipment with input from senior designers
- Attend site meetings during construction with a senior staff member Contribute to all aspects of system level design and assist with other general tasks when needed. Experience in design of power distribution, lighting/lighting controls, fire alarm communications and other low voltage systems (i.e. nurse call, public address/intercom, etc.) for building applications
What your experience looks like
- 5-10 years of experience minimum, with a preferred focus in buildings consulting engineering
- Revit MEP experience required and AutoCAD proficiency desired Attention to detail and accuracy
