We’re looking for our next Trade Manager/Senior Trade Manager to bring a combination of trade expertise, passion for food and drink, and a desire to support businesses to expand their reach, unlock new opportunities and showcase the best products on the international stage.
This is an opportunity to work directly with Canada’s food buyers, international product manufacturers and their partners to drive sales, facilitate relationship building and provide counsel on how to succeed in the Canadian market.
As a Trade Manager/Sr. Trade Manager, Agribusiness & International Trade, you will support multiple projects and clients in the food, drink, and agriculture sectors focused on providing consulting services to both domestic and international organizations in Canada. Services provided include education, business development, marketing, and promotions, and for international clients, facilitating exports to Canada.
Key Responsibilities:

Supporting international trade marketing programs for clients; including planning, material development, outreach, and execution

Assisting with the development of strategic and tactical trade programs that support client goals and objectives

Supporting project management, including attending regular meetings, document management and reporting

Managing logistics of client activities and events while working within budgets and timelines

Liaising with clients and partners on project updates

Providing on-site support for client-led activities, trade missions, and trade shows organized by ChangeMakers

Leading program reporting and evaluation; writing detailed activity reports, program reports, and research reports

Conducting trade research to develop reports for clients
-
Participating in trade consultations for international companies interested in entering the Canadian market
-
Supporting the management of trade relationships across multiple agribusiness related sectors
-
Attending industry trade shows and events to monitor trends and opportunities
-
Maintaining and managing vendor and partner relationships
-
Actively supporting new business development
Qualifications:
- Must be able to occasionally commute to Toronto for events
Must have:
-
4-6/6-8 years of experience working in international trade development and facilitation, specifically in food & drink and agriculture
-
Knowledge of the Canadian grocery retail, beverage alcohol, and food service landscape.

Excellent organizational, project management, and time management capabilities.
-
Experience working with government organizations and/or trade development bodies
-
Event management and/or organization of events
-
Strong customer service and relationship management skills.

Excellent writing skills, initiative, problem-solving, and critical thinking
-
A passion for going the extra mile to get great results for every client.

Self-motivated, proactive, flexible, organized, and attentive to detail.
Good to have:

A degree in commerce, international business, marketing communications, or business communications.

Certified International Trade Professional (CITP) designation

Understanding of Canadian food and agribusiness import related regulations.

Experience with digital and/or social media marketing and influencer relations
-
Creativity and a positive energy.

Team spirit and a great attitude.
Unique Requirements:

Willingness to travel across Canada and the USA.

Availability to occasionally work after regular business hours and on weekends for travel and client events

Ability to understand and comply with complex activity reporting requirements and contractual obligations.
