Reports to: Investment Manager – Sustainable Manufacturing

Position Summary:

Kingston Economic Development Corporation is seeking a Program Coordinator to support the delivery of the Ontario Vehicle Innovation Network (OVIN) Regional Technology Development Site (RTDS) in Kingston. This full-time term position begins April 2026 and concludes August 31, 2029.

The Program Coordinator will help implement a high-impact initiative that strengthens Kingston and the surrounding region’s role in Ontario’s evolving vehicle and mobility innovation ecosystem. This role focuses on program administration, stakeholder engagement, event coordination, reporting, and supporting businesses as they navigate funding and partnership opportunities. No engineering or technical background is required—success in this role comes from strong organization, communication, and relationship-building skills.

This is a dynamic growth opportunity for someone who enjoys coordinating multi-partner initiatives, supporting entrepreneurs, and contributing to Kingston and the surrounding region’s economic development. The successful candidate will work closely with Investment Managers, maintain program databases, support outreach activities, and help connect companies with the resources available through the OVIN RTDS.

Key Responsibilities

Program Coordination and Administration

• Coordinate day-to-day activities of the OVIN RTDS to ensure smooth program delivery.

• Schedule meetings, prepare minutes, and support compliance with funder requirements.

• Organize events such as workshops, partner meetings, conferences, and promotional activities.

• Support partner-led workshops and training sessions that highlight available services.

• Track project milestones, budgets, and timelines.

Reporting and Compliance

• Prepare and submit required reports for program partners and funders.

• Consolidate monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

• Maintain documentation and records to support compliance across all participating organizations.

Funding Coordination

• Support the intake and coordination of funding applications.

• Assist startups and SMEs in understanding available programs and navigating application processes.

• Help ensure funding is distributed equitably and efficiently.

• Provide guidance to companies seeking to maximize their participation in OVIN-supported opportunities.

Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Management:

• Build and maintain relationships with entrepreneurs, researchers, manufacturers, and ecosystem partners.

• Facilitate collaboration between new and existing initiatives within the mobility and vehicle innovation sector.

• Support SMEs in accessing validation, testing, and commercialization services.

• Contribute to communication and outreach efforts that raise awareness of the OVIN RTDS and its programs.

Additional Projects and Initiatives:

• Support Kingston Economic Development Corporation’s broader business attraction and outreach activities.

• Assist with identifying high-potential companies and coordinating meetings and follow-ups.

• Contribute to long-term planning and sustainability of the OVIN RTDS and related initiatives.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• A post-secondary degree and 2-3 years work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• English language required, French considered a strong asset.

• Strong data management and analysis skills, including experience with CRM systems, financial tracking tools, and Microsoft Office.

• Ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and budgets.

• Experience preparing reports and supporting compliance processes.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

• Experience coordinating events, workshops, or community engagement activities.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize effectively.

Work Environment:

Kingston Economic Development Corporation is a fast-paced, collaborative team committed to advancing Kingston’s economic prosperity. This position requires on-site work; remote or hybrid arrangements are not available.
