We are currently seeking Photo Radar Operators to support traffic enforcement operations in collaboration with the Calgary Police Service. This role plays a key part in improving road safety through accurate enforcement, sound judgment, and professional court support.

About the Role

As a Photo Radar Operator, you will conduct traffic enforcement at assigned locations, operating specialized equipment in accordance with training and established standards. You will work independently in the field, applying situational awareness and local knowledge to support effective enforcement while ensuring all activities are documented accurately and professionally.

The role also includes administrative and court-related responsibilities. Operators may be required to attend court proceedings as directed by the Crown and must be prepared to communicate clearly and professionally with justice partners and law enforcement stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For

To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements (proof required):

  • Completion of High School or equivalent
  • Emergency First Aid Certification
  • Ability to successfully complete 40 hours of radar system certification training (provided upon hire)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
  • Eligibility to pass a Calgary Police Service Enhanced Reliability Check
  • Residency in Canada for a minimum of three (3) years

Working Conditions

This position follows a rotating schedule consisting of two day shifts (0700–1500), two evening shifts (1400–2200), followed by two days off. Court attendance may occur on any day of the week, including scheduled days off, with compensation provided in accordance with policy. Work is conducted primarily in a field-based environment and requires adaptability to varying conditions.
