The Role:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Construction Manager to lead and oversee construction projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate will ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, lead, and evaluate construction projects from initiation to completion.
- Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and meet all required specifications and deliverables.
- Develop and submit detailed project budget estimates.
- Prepare construction schedules, set milestones, and monitor project progress.
- Draft and manage contracts, including negotiating and overseeing change orders.
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures and risk management plans.
- Negotiate business services and union contracts where applicable.
- Prepare and present regular reports for clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
- Oversee procurement of building materials and ensure timely delivery.
- Hire, manage, and supervise subcontractors, tradespeople, and construction staff.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related construction discipline.
- A Master’s degree in Project Management or a related field is preferred (extensive industry experience may be considered in lieu of formal education).
- 10-15 years of progressive experience in the construction industry, including leadership roles.
- Strong preference for candidates with significant experience managing C-store (convenience store) and gas station construction projects.
- Professional Engineering (P.Eng) status or Red Seal certification is considered a strong asset.
