Job Description

Sodexo is growing! We are looking for a Horticulture Technician to join our dynamic team. This position is a full-time role**.** You will be offered is a great team environment, work/life balance and the ability to ensure customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

You are a dynamic and reliable person; you have good communication and interpersonal skills. You are committed to quality assurance and the safety of our internal and external customers.

During your mandate at Sodexo, you will be asked to water, fertilize, clean and orient the plants to maintain their optimal health. You will be responsible for removing any damaged or unsightly foliage and maintaining the plants in a clean and healthy condition. You'll need to prevent water or moisture damage, keep plants free of disease and insects, apply leaf cleaners and insecticides as needed, and maintain soil.

You will be asked to select appropriate plants for seasonal installations and/or replacement of existing plants. You will be required to work with tools including scissors, pruners, hand saws and garden hoses. You will need to have the physical ability to perform labor intensive tasks including regularly lifting 10 pounds buckets of water up to 50 pounds safely and be able to climb stairs and ladders as part of daily activities.

You will be responsible for performing administrative duties by maintaining up-to-date plant care records, updating inventory, ensuring material availability by checking stock levels and preparing requisitions.

You will be attending training programs (classroom and virtual) as needed, comply with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures, perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures, participate in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required. 2 years or more experience is preferred. Bilingualism in English and French may be obligatory depending on location. Experience with ISO9001 is required.
